Our perspective about the Automotive Supply Chain challenges

Success Case: Prima Sole

Demand Management Focused on Efficiency

One of the major global suppliers in the automotive sector, the Italian Prima Sole has over 50 years of experience, serving important automakers in Brazil and around the world, for both light and heavy vehicle markets.

Challenges and Opportunities

The main challenge at the Goiana (PE) unit was the architecture of the demand planning process. The supply planning integration was carried out directly in the ERP, without an intermediate layer for validation and critical analysis, compromising data reliability and operational visibility.
This resulted in systemic rework and the generation of inconsistent data in MRP (Material Requirements Planning).

The absence of robust tools for scenario modeling and predictive analysis caused interdepartmental impacts. Inventory, production, and finance were frequently affected by delays between planned and actual results. This led to:
  • Acquisition of raw materials planned for vehicle volumes that were not confirmed.
  • Sudden and significant changes in the production mix requiring emergency measures—such as high-cost freight—and creating imbalances in stock strategy.

Sintel Solution: Demand Management

Planning Consultancy (S&OP):
Sintel’s team carried out an in-depth assessment to improve planning flows and the overall demand management process, focusing on enhancing efficiency in data collection and integration. This empowered leadership to make strategic decisions more quickly and with stronger foundations.

Implementation and Modeling of Demand Processes:
Redesign of release and scheduling management processes, supported by analyses and adjustments prior to ERP integration.

Automation of Reports and Data Analysis:
Implementation of advanced predictive analysis and intelligent reporting resources, enabling strategic negotiations with automakers and Tier 1 suppliers. This guided capacity planning and resource/raw material allocation decisions.
